Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has completed a key road development project to enhance traffic flow and reduce congestion at the Sheikh Juma Bin Mohammed Al Mutawa intersection. The initiative involves the construction of a third 180-meter lane, forming part of the authority’s broader plan to improve road infrastructure across the emirate.
This strategic upgrade aims to support Sharjah’s growing transportation needs by improving traffic conditions, particularly along vital roads. The project aligns with SRTA’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure and comprehensive development across cities and regions in the emirate.
Eng. Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of SRTA, emphasized that this development responds to the increasing number of vehicles and traffic volume, and is intended to streamline daily commutes.
In addition to the new lane, the project includes the construction of a new U-turn from the Yarmouk area toward the Al Ghubaiba area. This feature is expected to significantly improve accessibility and reduce delays by allowing vehicles to more efficiently rejoin main roads, enhancing overall traffic flow.
The SRTA continues to implement proactive solutions to traffic challenges, contributing to improved mobility and supporting Sharjah’s long-term urban development vision.
