National Centre of Meteorology has said scattered showers will hit the country through to Thursday
Residents in the UAE are being warned to brace themselves for further rain this week.
Light rain fell on parts of Abu Dhabi and Umm Al Quwain in the early hours of Monday morning and this is expected to continue throughout the week, with forecasters warning of potential flash floods in some parts of the country.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM): “The chance of rain persists over most of the country until Thursday.”
It added that winds are expected to be moderate but will freshen, with the chance of blowing sand.
While temperatures could reach 28°C in Abu Dhabi and 26°C in Dubai, the weather bureau added.
Both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be moderate to rough.
Employers were this week told to keep the safety of their staff as a top priority during stormy weather, considering flexible hours in some instances.
