The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) said that the country from Sunday to Thursday will be affected by the expansion of a low pressure system on the surface, accompanied by a weak low pressure system in the upper atmosphere with the formation of cumulus clouds accompanied by precipitation, especially in the eastern and southern parts.
The Center also confirmed that it is monitoring the situation around the clock and will continue to inform the public about the latest developments, urging the public, road users and motorists to take precautions when driving in the rain and avoid approaching surface drains and puddles of rainwater. He also appealed to the members of the society to follow the bulletins and reports published by the NCM and not to spread rumors.
Experts said that a tropical depression has formed in the Arabian Sea region with a center 600 km from Ras al-Hadda in the south of Al-Sharqiya in Oman.
A tropical depression has formed in the Arabian Sea region, centered 600 km from Ras al-Hadda in the south of Al-Sharqiya.
The effects of the depression were noticeable in Oman when waves rose in the Wilayat of Mahut and made landfall, which led to flooding in these areas.
The UAE authorities expect that the weather from Sunday to Thursday will indicate the formation of cumulus clouds, sometimes accompanied by rain from medium to heavy, with lightning and thunder in some eastern and southern areas and in the city of Al Ain. Some inland and western areas may also experience precipitation with a gradual decrease in temperature, the NCM added.
Explaining the reasons for the precipitation during the summer, NCM said that the country is currently suffering from the spread of the Indian seasonal depression and heat depressions from the southwest. This leads to a noticeable increase in temperature and catalyzes the formation of cumulus clouds over the eastern regions of the country. And at high temperatures, cumulus rain clouds form in the afternoon and then move into the interior, causing precipitation, the NCM added.
On Saturday, active south-easterly winds were blowing at a speed of 40 km/h in some parts of the country, and the sea was choppy, where waves reached 6 feet in height off the coast of the Persian Gulf, NCM reports.
It also states that the lowest temperature in the country on Sunday was 23.8°C in Jabal Jays in Ras al Khaimah at 04:30 am, while the highest temperature reached 47.9°C in Sweihan in the city of Al Ain at 3:15 pm.
The NCM also expects Sunday's weather to be moderate to variable cloudy, with a chance of convective clouds forming in the east and south in the afternoon associated with precipitation. The wind will be weak or moderate south–easterly, turning into north-westerly, at times intensifying, causing dust to rise in the daytime, at a speed of 15-25, reaching 40 km/h. In the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, the sea will be weak or moderate.
It is expected that the weather on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will remain partly cloudy, at times with a slight cloud cover, with the probability of formation of convective clouds in the east and south in the afternoon associated with precipitation. The wind is from weak to moderate south–easterly, turning into north-westerly, sometimes intensifying, causing dust and sand to blow away, at a speed of 15-25, reaching 40 km/h. In the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, the sea will be weak or moderate.
