Barclay, an army veteran and key adviser, died in the UAE
It became known that Brigadier Michael Barclay, an outstanding British pioneer and an experienced army veteran, died in the UAE.
A man of several roles, Barclay was a former adviser to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.
He was also known to have commanded the Dubai Defence Force, one of the three defence forces before the unification of the armed forces in 1976.
