The inauguration ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Ibrahim Musabeh Al Ajil, Acting Director General of Police Operations, Brigadier General Abdullah Ibrahim Bin Nassar, Deputy Director General of the Resources and Support Service, Colonel Omar Ahmed Abu Al-Zawd, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Butti Al-Hajri, Deputy Director of the Media and the Department public relations, a number of department directors and representatives of local Arab and foreign media.
The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Sharjah Police stressed the importance of raising awareness about cybercrime, which is a global problem in light of the growing use of technology in all spheres of life, which requires raising security awareness to ensure caution and taking measures to protect against fraud in all its forms.
He noted that this platform is designed to provide direct guidance in an innovative way to all segments of society, including UAE citizens, residents and guests, inviting them to visit it and learn about prevention and protection methods.
He expressed gratitude to the strategic, supportive media and influential partners in social networks for their effective role in transmitting the information message in its entirety to ensure the achievement of the desired goals.
Colonel Omar Ahmed Abu Al-Zawd, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Sharjah Police, said that the "Be Aware" campaign was launched in early July and will last for a month in cooperation with strategic partners to inform members of the community about cybercrime and various methods of fraud.
