Unveiling the Tensor Robocar at Dubai World Congress 2025
Tensor, a pioneering agentic AI company, is set to unveil the Tensor Robocar, the world's first personally owned Level 4 autonomous vehicle, at the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport 2025. This prestigious event in the UAE marks Tensor's debut in the Middle East, highlighting a significant milestone in the company's mission to revolutionize mobility.
Revolutionary Design and Engineering
Developed over a decade with proprietary engineering and advanced AI, the Tensor Robocar redefines personal transportation. It offers a unique blend of freedom, privacy, and true ownership of AI technology.
"When the world shifts, how will you move?" asks Amy Luca, Chief Marketing Officer at Tensor. "We are thrilled to introduce Tensor in Dubai, a city synonymous with innovation. This is not just a concept; it's the world's first real personal Robocar. It's time to Own Your Autonomy."
Engineered for True Autonomy
Unlike traditional EVs adapted for autonomy, the Tensor Robocar is designed from the ground up as an autonomous robot on wheels. Every design element is crafted to enhance AI perception, safety, and reliability. The vehicle features over 100 sensors, including 37 cameras, 5 lidars, and 11 radars, providing full 360° visibility. Its architecture uses radar-transparent materials and unobstructed lidar sightlines, embodying a safety-first philosophy.
The advanced electrical and electronic system ensures full-stack redundancy across power, communications, and control, guaranteeing fail-operational performance in all scenarios.
Advanced AI and Learning Capabilities
Powered by the Tensor Foundation Model, the Robocar learns from extensive real and simulated datasets. This enables confident navigation in challenging conditions such as desert glare, dust, fog, heavy rain, and night driving. Its dual AI system mimics human cognition: System 1 provides reflexive responses, while System 2, a multimodal Visual Language Model, manages rare and complex edge cases.
Designed for Individual Ownership
Unlike depot-based fleets, Tensor is designed for individual ownership, offering autonomy and self-reliance. Features include intelligent sensor-cleaning, protective covers for sand and dust, autonomous parking and charging, and continuous self-diagnosis—even offline. Tensor is more than just a car; it's a self-sufficient embodied AI agent that adapts intelligently while keeping control with the owner.
Commitment to Safety and Privacy
Purpose-built for SAE Level 4 autonomy, Tensor meets or exceeds FMVSS, UN/ECE, and GSO standards, including MOIAT conformity. It aims to achieve IIHS Top Safety Pick+, Euro NCAP, and US NCAP 5-Star ratings. Safety is reinforced with redundancy across all systems, including sensors, compute, communications, drive-by-wire, power, and thermal management. Washer systems and intelligent covers ensure uninterrupted visibility in Dubai's climate.
Privacy is a core focus for Tensor. All data—location, preferences, and records—are processed and stored locally on the vehicle, with end-to-end encrypted access via the app or onboard interface. Physical safeguards, such as camera covers and microphone off-switches, further protect owners from risks common to connected vehicles.
Innovative Features and Partnerships
Key innovations include the first personal Robocar, the first agentic AI vehicle, true Dual Mode (drive or be driven), privacy-first architecture, and a foldable steering wheel with a sliding display.
Tensor has partnered with industry leaders like Nvidia, Sony, VinFast, leading semiconductor firms, and Oracle. Insurance partner Marsh supports the world's first Robocar insurance policy.
Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026.
