Dubai is launching a new initiative to promote art.
The creative division of Dubai Media Office Brand Dubai and the Dubai international financial centre (DIFC) are launching a number of joint initiatives to promote art, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The organizations announced a number of joint projects within the framework of the new partnership at the event dedicated to the opening of Gate Avenue - a new shopping and entertainment center in DIFC.
Brand Dubai and DIFC will jointly launch one-Mile gallery in Gate Avenue, which will serve as a showcase for the best works of world and regional art.
Mona al-Marri, CEO of Dubai Media Office, said:"as part of our new long-term collaboration, Brand Dubai and DIFC will work to promote the growth of the city's art direction and entrepreneurs from the creative fields."
"As one of the largest patrons of art in the region, DIFC has built a remarkable art collection over the years. With One Mile Gallery, we want to open access to this collection," she added.
Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, added: "Art and culture are crucial to the life of the city [...] together with Brand Dubai, we aim to create a space where ideas and imagination can develop."
Brand Dubai and DIFC also launched the second phase of the campaign to support companies owned by the Emirates. DIFC will provide ten institutions with exclusive space in Gate Avenue and help with licensing.
DIFC also introduced the Design House Department at Gate Avenue, which includes 12 startups in the field of fashion, home goods, jewelry and design. In total, Gate Avenue has more than 200 restaurants, boutiques, shops and entertainment venues.
