RTA Launches Road Safety Film Festival for University Students in Dubai
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially launched the Road Safety Film Festival, a new competition designed for university and postgraduate students to raise awareness about traffic safety through short films. Open from April 7 to July 14, 2025, the contest offers cash prizes and certificates to top entries across three categories, all aimed at addressing the causes and dangers of road accidents.
?️ The competition encourages students aged 18–35 to submit creative, original short films either individually or in teams of up to three. Multiple submissions are allowed, provided each entry is fully produced by the participant(s) and tackles a specific road safety issue.

- Driving Distractions
- Unsafe Use of Bicycles & E-Scooters
RTA’s Director of Traffic, Ahmed Al Khzaimy, highlighted the initiative’s goal of empowering youth to use their creativity to promote traffic safety education. He emphasized the growing need to address soft mobility behaviors and the rise in e-scooter and bike usage.
