The new rules require Pakistani residents to follow the Wadeema Law, which ensures child rights
The UAE has issued a new visa warning for Pakistani nationals residing in the nation.
According to UAE Consul General in Karachi Bakheet Ateeq Al-Remeithi, the UAE has warned Pakistani nationals who want apply for a residency visa in the UAE, or wish to settle in the nation with their children, that they must strictly observe the Wadeema Law.
The Waadema law is the UAE’s child protection law for under 18s. Under the law, parents or guardians must provide primary education, shelter and other basic essentials to their children.
Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 concerning child rights, also known as Wadeema’s Law, stresses that all children must be provided with appropriate living standards, access to health services, education, equal opportunities in essential services and facilities without any kind of discrimination.
The law protects children against all forms of negligence, exploitation, physical and psychological abuses.
If found in violation of this law, Pakistani residents will be held liable, face serious consquences and can be deported.
Al-Remeithi added that there is a huge population of Pakistani nationals in the UAE, and that the new enforcement and warning is part of the nation’s efforts to ensure that children have access to education.
When asked if Pakistani nationals arriving in the UAE on a visit visa are also included under the new warning, Al-Remeithi said they are exempt, however, they will have to leave the country once their visa has expired.
The report, citing Al-Remeithi’s interview, added that going forward, Pakistani nationals must provide proof of ability to send their children or ward to school.
