The Emirati Astronomical Society (AS) reported the sighting of the long-awaited Suheil star at dawn on Wednesday, marking the end of the sweltering summer heat.
This observation was a relief for many, since this summer the mercury temperature reached 50 degrees Celsius several times.
According to the International Astronomical Center, the Suhail star is the second brightest in the sky after Sirius. It is located about 313 light-years from Earth, and it can be seen until the end of winter on the Arabian Peninsula.
