Souq said the 23,000 square metre facility in Dubai South will increase the selection of products and speed for customers
Amazon-owned Souq.com has opened a new fulfilment centre in Dubai that it says will create over 600 jobs in the first year of operations.
Souq said the 23,000 square metre facility in Dubai South will increase the selection of products and speed for customers, and also benefit regional sellers that use Fulfilment by Souq (FBS) on the ecommerce platform, which sees Souq store and ship their products directly to customers.
Prashant Saran, director of Customer Fulfilment Middle East, said: “With the launch of our new fulfilment centre in Dubai, we take a significant step forward on this journey by providing a much larger selection, delivered quicker to our customers.”
Ronaldo Mouchawar, CEO of Souq, added: “The increased fulfilment capacity also benefits our sellers, who comprise of thousands of small and medium sized businesses, by enabling them to scale up their businesses on our marketplace.”
Job positions at the new fulfilment centre are available on www.amazon.jobs.
Souq has created more than 1,700 jobs in the UAE since opening in 2010.
