The Traffic and Patrols Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police has announced a reduction in the speed limit on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Salem Street (E11) from 100 km/h to 80 km/h. Consequently, the radar enforced speed limit on the road will now be 101 km/h, previously set at 121 km/h. This new regulation will be implemented starting January 17.
The Ras Al Khaimah Police communicated this decision via the social media platform X, emphasizing that the primary goal is to enhance the safety of all road users.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Salem Street (E11) stretches from the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (Al Raffa) roundabout to the Marjan Island roundabout.
This initiative reflects the broader commitment of Ras Al Khaimah authorities to prioritize road safety and minimize traffic-related incidents. By reducing speed limits, they aim to create a safer driving environment, ensuring a higher level of protection not only for drivers but also for pedestrians and cyclists. The decision underscores their proactive approach in aligning with international road safety standards.
