Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company PJSC (du) has signed a Dhs2 billion ($544.54 million) agreement with Microsoft to develop a hyperscale data center in the UAE. The facility, announced during Dubai AI Week, will be built and operated by du, with Microsoft as its anchor tenant.
Capacity will be rolled out in phases, supporting growing demand for cloud computing and data storage services. Hyperscale data centers play a critical role in enabling large-scale digital transformation across industries. Du currently runs five data centers across the UAE, aligning with the country's ambition to become a leading AI and digital innovation hub globally. This partnership marks a major milestone in du’s strategy to strengthen the digital infrastructure of the region.
