In 2024, Dubai implemented significant road infrastructure improvements aimed at increasing traffic efficiency and reducing congestion. These improvements, including over 50 localized projects and a large-scale Main Roads Development Plan worth 16 billion dirhams, have resulted in the following benefits for drivers:
• Increased Road Capacity: In some areas, road capacity has increased by up to 20%.
• Reduced Travel Time: Overall travel time has been reduced by 60%. Specific improvements, such as those on Latifa bint Hamdan Street and Meydan Road, have led to significant reductions in travel time in key areas. One example states that improvements doubled the capacity of one street, reducing travel time from 15 minutes to just 5 minutes.
These improvements are designed to support Dubai's growing population and improve connectivity between different areas of the emirate.
