Dubai International Airport Retains Title as Busiest for International Traffic in 2024
Dubai International Airport has once again claimed the top spot for international passenger traffic in 2024, according to the latest report from Airports Council International (ACI) World. Preliminary data shows global passenger numbers reached nearly 9.5 billion, marking a 9% rise from 2023 and a 3.8% increase compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
The world’s top 10 busiest airports handled a combined 855 million passengers in 2024—8.8% more than in 2023 and 8.4% above 2019 figures. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport remains the world’s busiest overall, followed by Dubai International and Dallas Fort Worth International.
Air cargo volumes also saw an 8.4% year-over-year increase, totaling over 124 million metric tonnes—3.9% higher than 2019.
