The Black Forge Inn, owned by UFC star Conor McGregor, is reportedly eyeing Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as part of its global expansion plans.
McGregor’s pub has become popular among global celebrities since it opened in Drimnagh in 2021. Along with The Marble Arch in Drimangh and The Waterside in Howth, McGregor’s pub empire is set to expand further with plans to open The Black Forge in multiple locations worldwide.
According to the front-of-house manager, Liam Flynn, The Black Forge is planning to open in the Middle East, United States, and England. “We’re going Abu Dhabi and Dubai,” said Flynn. “Then it’s going to get exciting, we’re going to Boston, New York, Chicago, and then we’re going to London. And all of these pubs abroad are going to be called The Black Forge.”
Flynn also revealed that there are major changes planned for the Drimnagh location, including an expanded kitchen and a new cocktail bar.
“It’s going to be a fantastic pub,” he said. The plans also include expanding McGregor’s Black Forge stout globally, which is currently brewed about a kilometer away from the pub.
“We’re going to have this Black Forge stout all over the world. At the moment, it’s coming out there now,” Flynn said.
“We have it in cans, and it’s going to be on draught everywhere. We had it in London there, two or three weeks ago, and it flew out. We’re doing a pop-up bar in London, and we did a pop-up bar in Dubai a few months ago to see how it goes. It’s up to the CEO Conor and the rest of the major team to make the decisions.”
While it is unclear when the expansion will happen, the Black Forge Inn’s plans to go global have already created a buzz among McGregor’s fans and pub enthusiasts worldwide.
