Emirates cabin crew member injured in Entebbe airport fall
Investigation launched after member of staff fell from an open door while preparing the aircraft for boarding
Emirates airline on Thursday confirmed that a member of one of its cabin crews was injured after an incident at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda.
An investigation has been launched after the unnamed member of staff fell from an open door while preparing the aircraft for boarding on Wednesday.
Local media reported that she sustained "life-threatening" injuries in the fall while other unconfirmed reports claimed she had passed away in hospital.
An Emirates spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a member of our cabin crew unfortunately fell off from an open door while preparing the aircraft for boarding on flight EK729 from Entebbe on 14 March.
"The injured crew member was brought to the nearest hospital. We are providing all possible support and care for the affected crew, and will extend our full co-operation to the authorities in their investigation."
