The first 100% Emirati-engineered and developed satellite, manufactured in the UAE at the MBRSC, Dubai
KhalifaSat is an Earth observation satellite, designed, tested and manufactured by a team of Emirati engineers and scientists, at the Space Technology Laboratories, MBRSC.
It is one of the world’s most technologically advanced satellites, with five patents to its name.
Once deployed into orbit, it will deliver high quality images of earth to the ground station at MBRSC. These images will assist governmental and private organisations all over the world with environmental monitoring, disaster relief, urban planning and much more.
The satellite has already made the 7,500km journey to the launch site on the Pacific Ocean coast of Japan.
KhalifaSat is the third satellite to be launched by MBRSC but the first satellite developed in the UAE by a team of Emiratis.
When placed into a low earth orbit of approximately 613km, the satellite will proceed to capture detailed imagery capable of competing with the highest industry standards.
