The UAE ranks within the top five countries in 65 indicators according to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre
According to the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics (FCSC), the UAE leads 156 global competitiveness indicators and is in the top 10 for 432 of them.
These indicators, which account for 30% of such global indices, show that the UAE has succeeded in several important areas, including education, environment, climate change, security, cybersecurity, infrastructure, regulatory flexibility, prosperity, governance and more.
These include indicators published by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in the World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY) and the Legatum Institute.
FCSC reported that, according to WCY IMD, the UAE ranks 12th in the world with a score of 88.67 points (out of 100) and is leading in the MENA region. The UAE is among the top five countries in 65 indicators and ranks first in the world in 19 indicators.
As for the indicators in the four main areas of the Yearbook: economic indicators, public administration efficiency, business efficiency and infrastructure, the UAE took 6th, 3rd, 17th and 26th places, respectively.
The IMD Global Competitiveness Yearbook classifies 64 countries around the world and usually bases its classification on four main axes: Economic Indicators, Government Efficiency, Business Efficiency and infrastructure, which fall under the sub-axes covering competitiveness indicators in various economic, financial, legislative, administrative and social areas. The book, which is considered the most indicator-rich report measuring the competitiveness of countries, uses 338 indicators to assess how countries and enterprises manage to achieve prosperity.
According to the Global Competitiveness Yearbook, the top five countries in 2022 are as follows:
1. Denmark.
2. Switzerland.
3. Singapore.
4. Sweden.
5. Hong Kong.
