Specialists managed to load nuclear fuel, conduct comprehensive tests and successfully complete the launch operation," wrote the UAE Prime Minister and ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, on Twitter.
According to him, nuclear power plants and space exploration by the UAE are "a message to the world that the Arabs are able to resume their path in science and compete with the rest of the great Nations."
The NPP consists of four power units with a capacity of 5.6 MW. The Emirati nuclear regulatory Agency has issued a license to operate the first unit of Nawah Energy Company.
