Introduction to Ruya Careers UAE Redefined 2023
The 24th edition of Ruya Careers UAE Redefined concluded on September 25 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), marking a significant milestone in Emirati employment opportunities. This year, the event set new records, showcasing its growing influence as the UAEs premier employment and skills platform.
Engagement and Opportunities
Over the course of three days, thousands of jobseekers connected with recruiters, while employers conducted on-site interviews at an unprecedented scale. This interaction highlighted Ruyas pivotal role in bridging the gap between jobseekers and employers in the UAE.

Several key sectors were prominently featured, including:
- Aviation
- Healthcare
- Retail
- Insurance
- Digital Services
- Logistics
The Get Hired! initiative was instrumental in speeding up interview processes and facilitating immediate job placements, according to a WAM report.
Focus on Innovation and Future Skills
This years edition emphasized innovation and future-ready industries. Notably, Dubai Municipality launched the regions first Virtual Reality Food Safety Inspector program. Additionally, they collaborated with the Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai to introduce a Professional Certificate in Data Analytics, aimed at enhancing youth digital skills.
Dubai Polices Air Wing announced pilot vacancies, while Dubai Customs showcased its Masar 33 program, focusing on advanced customs operations.
Youth Engagement and Competitions
Shamsa Al Falasi, UAE Citi Country Officer and CEO of Citibank N.A., UAE, highlighted high youth engagement through initiatives like Mehnaty. Asma Alsharif, AVP, Sustainable Development, Exhibitions, DWTC, emphasized the platforms success in connecting Emirati talent with both traditional and future industries.
Dynamic competitions added excitement to the event:
- Etihad Private School won the Game Out to Mars challenge.
- Deira International School excelled in FutureFit by DIDI.
- Al Ittihad Private School Jumeirah triumphed in The Next Founder.
- Al Mawakeb, Garhoud, led in The Hackathon.
Empowering Entrepreneurs and Advancing Emiratisation
For the first time, the Ruya Concept Store showcased products from nine Emirati entrepreneurs. Supported by DP World, ADIB, and ENOC, the event also featured PwC Middle Easts Watani program, which has successfully onboarded over 250 Emiratis to date.
With unprecedented participation and measurable impact, Ruya has further solidified its role in the UAEs Emiratisation strategy. The next edition is scheduled for September 28–30, 2026, at DWTC.
