The ME Dubai hotel at The Opus, which will consist of 93 rooms and 98 serviced apartments across 19 floors, is delayed until Q4 2019
Dubai developer Omniyat has started the handover of commercial units at The Opus by Zaha Hadid.
Located in Business Bay, the buildings made up of two glass towers connected by a ground-floor podium and a glass and steel bridge, and includes over 56,000 square feet of office space, a club, several restaurants and a hotel, ME by Melia hotel Dubai.
Omniyat said companies have begun taking ownership of commercial units at The Opus and can now start the fitting-out process to complete their bespoke offices. The developer said the new owners range from multinational Fortune 500 companies to regional creative agencies.
“The idea of The Opus has always been one to create a multi-faceted experience for clients in one of the world’s most iconic architectural structure in Dubai’s ultimate commercial address,” said Mohammed Hmeid, sales and marketing director at Omniyat.
“The melting void is home to renowned lifestyle hotel ME by Melia, world class Michelin star restaurants and private residences designed by Zaha herself and a bespoke wellness center with signature facilities. Residing in this building gives you the ability to work, eat, live and play all one riveting location.”

The Opus is distinct from the famed architect’s list of iconic projects as it is one of Hadid’s very first projects in Dubai to have been fully designed from an interior and exterior perspective, where every element of the hotel and residential space, recognisable with her signature curves and flowing lines have been handpicked by her complimenting the powerful elements of the exterior of The Opus.
The Opus is designed as two separate towers that coalesce into a singular whole, taking the form of a cube. The cube is ‘carved’ to create a central void that is an important volume in its own right, providing views to the exterior from the heart of the building.
Established in 2005, Omniyat has a development portfolio of over $6.2 billion.
