The last section of the Emirates Road federal highway has opened in the UAE.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, the last section of the federal highway Emirates Road (E611) with a length of 7 km has opened. The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE has asked drivers to follow the new road signs and observe the speed limit.
Emirates Road is a stand-in highway for Sheikh Zayed Highway and Mohammed bin Zayed Highway, it connects the northern emirates of Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and Sharjah with Dubai and is mainly used for freight transport.
Meanwhile, the Dubai Police has launched a new feature in its mobile app-now smartphones will inform motorists about accidents on the roads or temporary closure of highways.
The task of the new feature, which was developed using artificial intelligence technologies , is to improve the traffic situation, reduce the number of congestion and help drivers build routes to avoid traffic jams. In addition, the app will inform drivers about road closures due to holidays and other official events.
It should be clarified that the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority is also actively implementing artificial intelligence technologies to improve the transport situation. In particular, AI studies the habits of metro passengers and helps manage passenger traffic at stations and platforms, primarily during peak hours.
