The economic department of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah confiscated 133 units of counterfeit products from shopping centers.
In the northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah a number of shopping centers received the letter with the prevention from the economic department which confiscated from them 133 units of various counterfeited products of the international brands, Ahmed Ali Al Belushi, the manager of commercial control and section concerning protection told.
"All 133 counterfeit elements, including purses, bags and spirits, were withdrawn from shops while courts issued the warning of more severe measures of punishment in case of repeating of the same violation" — he told.
The department learned about violations by means of the notification by the companies owning legitimate rights for original products, he added.
The economic department of Ras-al-Haymy doesn't feel sorry for efforts to consumer protection and the companies owning licensed trademarks.
"Sale of counterfeit products to clients under the guise of original — no other than a fraud and a racketing, and we can't allow it in the markets of the emirate and all country" — he added.
