The number of the Russian tourists having a rest in Ras-al-Hejme in 2016 has grown by 3,2%.
Dubai, UAE. Despite general fall of outbound tourism in Russia, the number of the Russian tourists having a rest in Ras-al-Hejme in 2016 grew by 3,2% in comparison with the same period of 2015. Thus Russia took the third place on number of tourists in the emirate, having yielded only to Germany and Great Britain. Total number of the tourists who visited Ras-al-Hejmu in 2016 increased by 7%, and occupancy of hotels in July grew by 36,7% in comparison with 2015.
"Exactly a year ago we began implementation of our first long-term strategy of development for tourist capacity of the region", – the CEO of department on tourism development of the emirate Haytam Mattar declared. – "For the first 12 months of this three-year plan we achieved impressive progress. Strategic partner agreements with airlines and tour operators, in particular, are signed with the leading international tour operators of FTI, Thomas Cook and TUI, and also with the Indian and Chinese tour operators. Partner agreements with world famous airlines are signed: Emirates Airline, Qatar Airways, Flydubai and Air Arabia. Besides, representations of the emirate of Ras-al-Hejma in Russia, Great Britain and India were open, and in the 4th quarter 2016 new representations will open in China and Saudi Arabia. The strategy of diversification of our market is one of key factors of growth which is supported with the last statistics".
The domestic market of the UAE continues to remain the largest for Ras-al-Heymy, delivering more than a third of all tourists. The main international markets for the emirate – Germany, Great Britain, Russia and India - continue to grow surely. In comparison with last year tourist flow from Europe increased by 45%, the list was headed by Germany (68%) and Great Britain (33,2%).
Today the emirate Ras-al-Hejma offers more than 5 000 hotel rooms in 41 hotels to which in 2019 3 000 more rooms in 12 hotels will be added. By 2025 the capacity of hotels will increase to 20 000 numbers. Many of them will be on Al Marjane's island, the stunning artificial archipelago which covers 2,7 million sq.m.
