A new app has been developed for expedited immigration control processing at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed International Airport.
A special app has been launched for travelers visiting the UAE for the first time, allowing them to pass immigration control in just 10 seconds at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed International Airport.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security of the UAE (ICP) has introduced the "UAE Fast Track" app, available for both iOS and Android devices. This app enables guests to pre-register their information in order to utilize the electronic gates.
"Previously, the initial immigration control process could take between 5 to 10 minutes, but thanks to this solution, the procedure has been reduced to just 10 seconds," said an ICP representative at the ongoing Gitex Global 2024 exhibition.
To take advantage of the new feature, travelers need to download the "UAE Fast Track" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, open it, and register using their email address and password.
Next, they will need to scan a copy of their passport, after which all personal information, including name, gender, date of birth, passport number, and nationality, will be displayed in the form.
After that, the traveler must enter their travel information: arrival date, point of entry, and departure date. Then they will go through the facial biometric registration process by looking at the front camera of their phone while the app collects biometric data.
Once the facial recognition step is completed, they will need to provide a fingerprint by using the rear camera to scan their fingerprint.
Next, they will manually enter their email address, mobile phone number, and address in the UAE. It is crucial to provide accurate information as per the details in the app, as any inaccuracies may lead to legal consequences.
Finally, the applicant will be asked to indicate their occupation, traveler category, and reason for visiting the UAE.
Once the registration is complete, tourists will be able to complete most procedures at Sheikh Zayed International Airport without the need to present their boarding pass or passport at key control points.
