Ruler of Dubai praises the new initiative that will give a huge fillip to aviation, energy, blockchain and startups.
Dubai on Monday unveiled four high-tech laboratories focusing on aviation, energy, blockchain and entrepreneurship.
The facilities are expected to become a hub of technological advancement and will be overseen by Dubai Future Foundation and supported by big companies such as Emirates Airline and Airbus, according to state news agency, WAM.
“Today we have launched four innovative labs that will focus on predicating the future of aviation, energy, blockchain and entrepreneurship," Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president of UAE and ruler of Dubai said hailing the launch of the laboratories.
“These labs will support the UAE Centennial Plan 2071 and will lay the foundations for building a global centre to test future innovations of the country," Sheikh Mohammed said.
“We reiterate our support for government and private partnerships to accelerate work and achievement, and create new ideas that provide promising economic opportunities and support entrepreneurs, national and global talents,” he added.
The Aviation Future Lab will support scientific research and engineering projects with a focus on reducing carbon emissions.
Developing Artificial Intelligence based services is a key area of focus for the Blockchain Future Lab.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority will be heavily involved in the Energy Future Lab, which will have a sharp focus on renewable energy and improving digital services.
The Entrepreneurship Future Lab features meeting and conference rooms in Area 2071 and will facilitate a platform for start-ups and entrepreneurs in the technology sector to easily secure business licenses.
