The company which is going to build a complex of floating houses in Dubai considers the possibility of its placement near The World archipelago.
The founder of the company which is going to realize the project of floating housing in Dubai, reported that he conducts negotiations with the project owner of the artificial archipelago from 300 islands of The World from Nakheel about placement of houses at its coast and energy use developed by autonomous houses for what resort food.
Berend Lens van Rein, whose company Belevari Marine is a sole distributor of floating houses of production Waterlovt in the UAE, told: "Islands were purchased for 40, 50 or 60 million dirhams [$10,9; 13,6; 16,3 million], and owners calculated that Nakheel will establish electric and sewer networks. But it wasn't in the contract. So now the owner of the island shall pay for an own power supply system. It means, you should pay at least $15 million if you want to construct system on sewage treatment for yourself."
"Our houses, fortunately, already provide themselves with energy. We provided treatment facilities [...] [Installation] on a roof of big Waterlovt is capable to make to 40 kilowatts of a solar energy an hour. Houses are well warmed and have a threefold glazing, and it means that conditioners will consume only 3-4 kilowatts an hour" — van Rein told.
The Belevari Marine company along with New Living on Water which is engaged in the same presented stands at an exhibition of the real estate Cityscape Global which took place this month in Dubai. Offers of the entities are aimed at various segments of the market: the cost of floating houses of Waterlovt begins with 4,4 million dirhams ($1,19 million) for an object of 180 sq.m while magnificent housing from New Living on Water of 200 sq.m is estimated at $10 million.
The floating houses from Seahorses Kleindienst which are located within the archipelago were also exposed on Cityscape. The company sold already more than 50 houses at the prices in the range to from 9 to 12 million dirhams ($2,45-3,26 million).
Menno de Roos, the director of New Living on Water, told the The National edition about the confidence in demand of buyers from the UAE for unusual housing though, as well as Waterlovt, the company still waits for the first order.
Mister van Rein in turn already held negotiations with a number of builders in Abu Dhabi for the purpose of resale of houses which can be used as floating offices or restaurants. He made such proposal, having realized interest of the market in a commercial real estate. Nevertheless, he keeps confidence in the long term for the residential floating buildings in Abu Dhabi and intends to cooperate with the developers capable to get permission from City Council on planning for their construction.
