Pakistani man airlifted by National Search and Rescue Centre after being seriously hurt
A Pakistani expat was rescued by the UAE's National Search and Rescue Centre (NSRC) after being involved in a serious motorcycle crash in the Abu Dhabi desert.
The NSRC carried out an emergency rescue and evacuation mission on Sunday after the motorcyclist was severely injured in the Sweihan desert in Abu Dhabi, state news agency WAM reported.
The NSRC operations control received a distress signal at 4pm local time. An ambulance patrol was contacted, which reported it could not reach the injured 35-year-old man due to the dunes.
The NSRC dispatched a search and rescue helicopter and the man was airlifted to Mafraq Hospital to receive treatment, WAM said without giving the man's medical condition.
