An Icelandic newspaper report claimed the Dubai carrier had sent a delegation to Iceland to evaluate potential of direct flights
Emirates airline currently has no plans to start direct routes to Iceland, a spokesperson said, despite an Icelandic newspaper report claiming the Dubai-based carrier had sent a delegation to the country to evaluate starting flights between the two cities.
A report by Icelandic newspaper Morgunblaðið claimed Emirates had recently sent a delegation to Keflavik Airport, Iceland’s largest airport, as part of a bid to evaluate the prospect of launching direct flights between Dubai and the Icelandic capital of Reykjavík.
“We continue to explore opportunities to strengthen our network, however Emirates has no plans to start services to Iceland,” an Emirates spokesperson said in a statement.
“Emirates continues to evaluate its operations around the world and we will launch new routes that serve market demand according to commercial priorities and operational dynamics.”
