On Monday, Emirates launches a new codeshare partnership with Aegean Airlines, allowing its customers to take advantage of expanded access to eight Greek domestic destinations via Athens using a single ticket.
Emirates will place its code on flights operated in the Aegean Sea, providing customers with a convenient and unhindered booking process, as well as a single agreed baggage policy for popular destinations: Kerkyra, Chania, Heraklion, Mykonos, Tyre, Rhodes, Thessaloniki and Alexandropoulos.
In accordance with the code-sharing agreement, Aegean Airlines will also place its code on Emirates flights between Dubai and Athens, so that their customers can take advantage of uninterrupted connections to Dubai and beyond.
Tourist routes can now be booked on emirates.com and aegeanair.com , with travel agents, as well as online travel agents (OTAS), for immediate travel.
Starting in October 2022, Emirates and Aegean Airlines will further expand their joint codeshare network to include eight more European regional routes via Athens, including Bucharest, Belgrade and Naples, as well as to the west on Emirates flights to New York Newark from Athens and New York Kennedy Airport from Milan.
Emirates currently serves Athens with 12 weekly flights operated by Boeing 777 aircraft. These additional code-sharing routes will be subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.
Thanks to code-sharing agreements with more than 26 carriers, two railway partners, as well as 110 interline partners around the world, Emirates offers its customers a truly global connection on 6 continents.
