Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has broken new records in terms of attendance numbers at several of its key events, with 2.65 million attendees across their events last year
Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) announced record-breaking results for 2024, demonstrating its pivotal role in bolstering Dubai's economic structure and global business connections. DWTC welcomed over 2.65 million participants, marking a 7% increase from the previous year, and hosted 378 exhibitions and events, a 26% year-on-year increase, including 40 new additions to its calendar.
The exhibitions and conferences attracted nearly 59,000 exhibiting companies, with a significant 77% originating from international markets. The MICE segment experienced substantial growth, increasing from 107 events in 2023 to 135 in 2024, with international participation rising by 30% to over 942,000 attendees. Key sectors driving this growth included healthcare (465,000 attendees, a 69% increase), food, hotel, and catering (283,000 attendees, a 25% increase), and IT (281,000 attendees, an 8% increase).
DWTC’s growth extended to real estate, with a collaboration with Emaar for the Expo Living project, near-full occupancy in commercial spaces, and over 90% occupancy in Expo Village. Furthermore, the DWTC Authority Free Zone expanded by incorporating One Za’abeel, attracting 389 new businesses. Helal Saeed Almarri, director general of Dubai World Trade Centre Authority, emphasized that these achievements underscore Dubai’s strengthening global market position and DWTC’s role in fostering meaningful commercial connections.
