Public transport will be restricted as part of National Disinfection Programme
Dubai’s public transport system will remain closed between 8pm and 6pm daily up until April 5 as part of the National Disinfection Programme.
According to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the metro and tram, will operate on regular schedules during the day, but will fall in line with national movement restrictions for the intervening hours.
A notice from the RTA said: “During these hours over this period, all public transport means in Dubai will cease services, and will operate on regular schedules outside those hours i.e. from 7am to 7pm.”
The authority added that full timetables will resume by the end of the National Disinfection Programme.
However, the RTA announced that all marine transport services – including abras, ferry and water taxi – will be suspended until April 30.
Last journey
The last journey on Dubai Metro's Red Line will depart at 6.02pm from Rashidiya Station to UAE Exchange Station; and at 6.02pm UAE Exchange Station to Rashidiya Station, the RTA explained.
On the Green Line, the last train will depart from Creek Station to Etisalat Station at 6.13pm, and the last train departs from Etisalat Station to Creek Station at 6.17pm.
The last intercity bus service will depart at 4pm to Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, and 5pm to Ajman and Sharjah.
Taxi services via Careem and Uber will be available during the National Disinfection Programme hours, adding that public buses will operate across 13 routes, which serve 19 public and private hospitals, every 30 minutes.
