In its fight to contain the fast spreading coronavirus, Dubai has imposed new restrictions on movement permits.
Permits to leave the house to buy essential goods at a grocery store or pharmacy will now be limited to once in every three days, according to the permit application website.
Visiting an ATM to withdraw cash will be limited to once every five days. One can apply for emergency permits only twice a day.
Violators of the movement permit system will face heavy fines.
So far the UAE has reported 5,365 infections of the coronavirus, with 33 dead. There have been 1,034 recoveries.
All hotels, restaurants and event venues in Dubai will remain closed until further notice.
The Dubai Tourism, in its latest circular, said it has extended indefinitely all the precautionary measures rolled out earlier to stem the spread of coronavirus.
