Dubai has issued amendments to the rules regulating system of the movement of the tram in the emirate, having raised penalties for drivers-violators.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Muhammad bin Rasheed Al Maktoum, the crown prince of Dubai and the chairman of Executive council of Dubai, issued new amendments which will raise penalties for breakers of rules of traffic.
As reported by WAM, driving through red light in tram ways with the subsequent road accident from the death can turn back a penalty in the amount of 15 to 30 thousand dirhams ($4-8 thousand), and also deprivation of driver's licenses for a period of one up to three years.
For accident with injured with driving through red light the violator is threatened by a penalty in the amount of 5 - 15 thousand dirhams ($1,3-4 thousand) and deprivation of the rights for a period of six months up to one year. The road accident without loss of human life can end for the driver with a fine of 3 - 6 thousand dirhams ($815-1600) and suspension of action of the car driver license for a period of 30 days up to six months. For accident-free driving through red light punishment is also prescribed: a penalty in the amount of 2 - 5 thousand dirhams ($544-1300) and suspension of the license for a period of 30 days up to three months.
The breakers of rules of safety having the status of contractors or operators will be fined 100 - 500 thousand dirhams ($27,2-136,1 thousand).
