All lovers of two-wheeled vehicles in Abu Dhabi, check your "wayward" instincts. Those who violate the rules concerning bicycles and electric bicycles will be punished.
The Integrated Transportation Center (ITC) of the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Police, has begun to apply fines for violations of the rules concerning bicycles and electric bicycles for individual use in Abu Dhabi.
The center also stated that bicycles and e-bikes are one of the "first and last mile" services that connect bus stations, shopping malls, services and residential areas and allow community members to get to their destination quickly without damaging their pockets.
Those who go beyond what is allowed will be fined. According to WAM, fines range from 200 to 500 Dhs for non-compliance with directives and safety standards or violations related to cycling on prohibited roads and zones.
The idea is to ensure maximum safety of residents, to ensure a safe society.
