Lootah Real Estate Development has issued a call for bids for the master plan design of its new joint venture with Dubai South.
Design companies will be asked to submit their plan for the 1,150,548 square feet residential project within the Dubai South Residential District.
No details were given about the project other than Lootah's aim to offer "world-class community living within an urban environment".
Dubai South's Residential District will boast around 10,000 residential units by 2020 - housing an estimated 35,000 residents.
Adjoining the Expo 2020 site, the Logistics District and a staff village, the Residential District will also include schools, nurseries, hospitals, retail outlets, F&B options, a post office, swimming academy and a sports centre.
Saleh Abdullah Lootah, executive director of Lootah Real Estate Development said: “We are looking forward to envisioning the project and witnessing its transformation into a reality.
"We are expecting to see inventive planning and design that reflects our culture of excellence and commitment to build innovative world-class communities.”
He added that the plan must deliver "innovation and luxury without missing on affordability".
