The rules come into effect from Sunday, November 8
The Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee for Covid-19 Pandemic on Wednesday announced new requirements for entering Abu Dhabi.
The rules, that come into effect from Sunday, November 8, are as follows:
On day 1, take a Covid-19 test (PCR or DPI)
Entry to the emirate should be within 48 hours of receiving the negative test result
PCR test is mandatory on the fourth day of entering, only when staying for four or more consecutive days
PCR test is mandatory on the eighth day of entering, only when staying for eight or more consecutive days, in addition to the test on day 4
The day of arrival into Abu Dhabi is counted as day 1
The rule applies to all UAE citizens and residents, including returning Abu Dhabi residents, and those failing to take the PCR tests on day 4 and 8 are liable for fines.
Volunteers in Covid-19 vaccine trials and those taking the vaccine under the emergency use programme are exempt.
