Imkan says construction being on the first mixed-use project in its Makers District development on Reem Island
Abu Dhabi-based real estate developer Imkan has announced that construction has started on the first mixed-use project in its $540 million 18-hectare waterfront Makers District on Reem Island.
The development is making scheduled progress towards its completion timeline of the fourth quarter of 2020, the company said in a statement.
It said Dutch Foundation has completed all 938 secants of shoring while five metres of excavation work has also commenced within Pixel, which will offer 480 residential units within seven mixed-use residential towers.
The towers will frame a pedestrianised plaza, home to over 3,500 sq m of F&B, retail and offices, as well as a signature water feature.
The tender for the main works of Makers District will be awarded in Q1 2019.
Walid El-Hindi, CEO of Imkan, said: “We are truly proud of the progress we are making on this project as we continue to work with the best in the industry. We are committed to achieving timely milestones across our portfolio and Pixel is no exception. The development validates our priority to enrich the UAE’s residential and commercial landscape through setting a new benchmark for community-living.”
