The Ajman consumer sentiment index (CSI) increased by 2023 points in 131, surpassing the world average by 100 points, the report says.
According to a report by the Ajman Department of Economic Development, this result shows that consumers in the emirate are more optimistic about economic prospects than consumers in most countries.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, representative for administrative and financial affairs of the ruler of Ajman, said: "the strong indicator of the Consumer Sentiment Index for 131 for 2023 reflects widespread optimism in the local economy. This optimistic attitude is expected to result in greater consumer spending, increase demand for financing and investment, and ultimately boost economic growth."
Sheikh Ahmed, who is chairman of the Ajman Department of Economic Development, attributed this to a comprehensive and balanced economic policy at the country and Emirati level in achieving leading positions in the region and globally, increasing the expectations of both consumers and investors.
The result of the index is also an incentive for the government, decision-makers and politicians to make more efforts and initiatives that support the economic and investment climate in the emirate, increase the credibility of the business community and provide a decent life to all residents of the emirate.
CSI is a survey-based measure of consumer confidence. It is carried out by conducting a survey about the expectations of consumers regarding the future of the economy, personal finances and their desire to make large purchases.
