Abanos, one of the largest holistic interior fit-out and joinery companies in the UAE, said it has been awarded a key contract by Dubai World Trade Centre for interior fit-out and joinery work on Expo Village at the site of Expo 2020 Dubai.
The Expo Village project, which is to be delivered in two phases, consists of 11 plots, each with podium parking. It will be connected to Dubai Metro’s Red Line extension and designed within a building information modelling (BIM) framework to achieve Leed Gold certification.
Construction is underway and the project is set to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Dubbing the Expo Village project as a landmark contract in the company's history, , Abanos said it would be using state-of-the-art joinery and fit-out products manufactured at its 21,000-sq-m facility for supply and installion of non-fire-rated and fire-rated doors, kitchen cabinets, and wardrobes for the Dubai Expo 2020 Village Project.
The project built up area is 48,488 sq. m. with a contract value of $13.4 million for carpentry and joinery works, spread across eleven plots, five parcels, three of which have been commissioned to Abanos.
