Ministry of State for Supreme Council Affairs
The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, under the department of FNC Affairs, works to strengthen the ties between the government and FNC by regulating their relations, facilitating processes, tracking issues, coordinating communication, and following up enforcement of the Cabinet's resolutions on recommendations made by the FNC. The Ministry also follows up on issuing of draft laws, reviewing public topics that the FNC wants to present to the Cabinet, making arrangements for government representation in the FNC sessions. Further, the Ministry supports the FNC and its committees to obtain information and data from various state bodies, in addition to other tasks and roles that contribute to reinforcing the coordination between the two authorities.
The Ministry participates in enactment of legislations related to the FNC's role. It collaborates with the FNC and the country’s leaders to develop legislations, promulgate laws and regulations related to the FNC and its work mechanisms by explaining the government's viewpoint and bringing about an integrated perspective that meets the requirements to develop the FNC and facilitates its work with the government.
The development of parliamentary life is also an important task of the Ministry, which it fulfills through the media by communicating a comprehensive message about the national vision and upgrading political participation channels. These are considered to be in line with meeting the requirements of sustainable development and an integral part of the UAE’s development. The Ministry's interest in information and media stems from the fact that the UAE has an active, distinguished, progressive and effective local media. In addition, there are many international media through which the Ministry is seeking to clarify the country’s vision about its national program.
