Experts discussed the problem of scalability at the blockchain conference
On November 14, at BlockShow Asia 2019, several celebrities of the crypto industry discussed the problem of blockchain scalability. Speakers agreed that developers and users have to choose between scalability and decentralization.
Lisk CEO Max Kordek; Etherscan founder Matthew tan; Microsoft Azure CTO Saranya Shriram; and Litecoin Foundation co-founder Shinsi Wang participated in the discussion.
Speaking about the scalability issue, Max Kordek said:
"Blockchain scalability is a trade-off. To get good scaling, you have to sacrifice something. That's why it makes me laugh when some projects promise 50,000 transactions per second."
They will be here Wang agreed Kordek:
"In litecoin, we always put decentralization and security first, not scalability. Unfortunately, it is impossible to achieve both at the same time; you have to look for something in between."
Matthew tan also added that there is no reason for infinite scalability:
"We need to figure out whether we need infinite scalability. Maybe we have no reason to go in this direction? We need to come to some happy compromise so that we can get scalability, decentralization, and security."
