The volatility of bitcoin in April soared by almost two times
The BTC volatility indicator has almost doubled over the last 30 days, as the largest cryptocurrency demonstrated an aggressive rally in April.
Recall that at the beginning of this month, bitcoin overcame the $5000 mark, and now it is trading above $5300, which creates conditions under which BTC can reach $5500 or even $6000.
According to the service Bitvol.info. bitcoin's volatility has almost doubled from 1.26% to 3.31 percentage points. Now this indicator is 3.54%.
The range of bitcoin price fluctuations began to change at an explosive pace after the exchange rate of the largest cryptocurrency against the us dollar for the first time in five months in just one hour soared by 22%. The BTC volatility indicator is now at its highest level since the beginning of 2019.
It is worth noting that the drop in the value of the coin by almost 80% last year was provoked by the exit of many investors from the crypto sphere. As a result, the volatility indicator has become one of the lowest in the history of the cryptocurrency.
The average price fluctuation in 2018 was just below 4%. The exception was only in January, when bitcoin was still at a historic high.
Over the past eight years, the dynamics of a fundamental decline in the overall volatility of bitcoin prices has been recorded, with the exception of small jerks.
According to analysts, the decrease in volatility has a positive impact on the development of the cryptocurrency industry. The smaller the range of price fluctuations of bitcoin and other digital assets, the more stable this market is.
Institutional investors prefer to invest in less volatile assets in order to minimize their risks, so the stabilization of the range of changes in the value of BTC will attract players with large capital.
