This December, Dubai will make endurance history when it hosts the world's longest desert ultramarathon in the spectacular Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve.
Elite ultra runners from around the world have Dubai marked their diaries between 11th and 15th December to participate in this iconic event.
Al Marmoom Ultramarathon offers participants three grueling distances to choose from; the world’s longest desert run at 270km, as well as 100km and 50km ultra runs.
This challenging self-sufficient race takes in four different routes and 5 stages over 5 days, including overnight camping (water and tents provided.
Runners will cross mixed terrain of hard sand and soft rolling dunes all in the stunningly beautiful Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve.
Being held under the umbrella of Dubai Sports Council, the Al Marmoom Ultramarathon is the ultimate measure of human athletic endurance testing physical strength and mental stamina. Participants will compete for a total prize purse of US $80,000, including collectable trophies and medals.
Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve stretches across 10% of Dubai’s land, and is part of a conservation project and initiative to promote Dubai’s commitment to a sustainable environment.
