50 Cent and Axwell to play opening weekend of new super-club Base Dubai
Rapper 50 Cent will perform at the opening weekend of brand new alfresco UAE super-club, Base Dubai.
Fiddy will appear at the venue, in Dubai Design District (d3), on April 28 — a day after a DJ set from Axwell will formally declare Base open for business.
Mixing an arena style stage set-up with Vegas bling, the new club-turned-gig venue is tipped to be bringing many more monster names — but will be forced to cut the opening fanfare short with the coming onset of summer.
DJ Axwell was last in the emirates for New Year’s Eve, where he rang in 2017 alongside former Swedish House Mafia colleague Ingrosso.
And 50 Cent is also no stranger to the UAE, have played a pop-up club gig at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2015, and headlined Meydan’s huge Atelier/Festival in 2012.
While he scored big with early hits including In Da Club and Candy Shop, in recent years the rapper born Curtis Jackson III has made more headlines for first declaring, and then emerging solvent from, bankruptcy.
Base will open from 10.30pm with free entry all night. However this is Dubai we’re talking about, so bookings are available at more than 100 VIP tables, promising "different packages suitable for all wallets", starting at a minimum spend of Dh2,000 for a table of four.
