Incredible India …where my grandparents were born in the state of Gujarat, the family was known for their generosity towards others, always making great traditional Indian food for neighbors in need. With an opportunity presented, my grandparents made their way to Kenya. Which is how the FLAMES journey began!
Magical Kenya…my parents continued the passion and started selling Indian home cooked food to shops and nearby homes. It was the FLAME and the passion in them to cook food from the heart, with the best quality produce they could source, using my grandparent’s unique Indian recipes but with an African twist that very quickly delighted the fast growing customers. I loved growing up in and around our small business, its customers, its food and its days. In the late 1960’s further adventure took us, a family of 10, to Britain by steam ship.
Historical Britain…..difficulty finding employment encouraged my parents to continue the tradition of FLAMES from Kenya. This time, they took the opportunity to learn the British taste for good spicy food and quickly the business became a success! I remember making deliveries around London after school to lend a hand and also spent time learning how to cook with my Father making incredible dishes, which now passed from Generation to Generation and further influenced by British culinary techniques.
Dazzling Dubai at FLAMES the secret recipes are unique, influenced by the Indian, Kenyan and British cuisines that graced the tables of days long gone by. It’s our personal promise that the quality and flavors of our food developed over generations would be difficult to match!!!!!
