UAE records third Covid-19 death and 102 confirmed new cases
Total number of cases in UAE up to 570, GCC total stands at 3,424
The UAE recorded its highest number of coronavirus cases on Sunday as 102 new infections of Covid-19 were confirmed and one more fatality.
It takes the total number of cases in the country up to 570.
A 47-year-old Arab woman, who had “chronic illnesses that complicated her ability to fight the disease” became the third person to die from Covid-19 in the country.
According to the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP), all new cases are in a stable condition.
MoHaP revealed that three people, one Filipino and two Indian nationals, have fully recovered from the virus, taking the total number of recoveries to 58.
MoHaP, meanwhile, has announced that it had carried out more than 220,000 laboratory tests across the UAE for coronavirus, coverage at over 22,900 tests per million people, the second highest test density in the world.
There are currently 3,424 confirmed cases of coronavirus across the GCC: Saudi Arabia (1,299), Qatar (634), UAE (570), Bahrain (499), Kuwait (255) and Oman (167).
