THE PASSENGER TRAFFIC OF FLYDUBAI AIRLINE HAS REACHED 5 MILLION PASSENGERS
The Dubai airline flydubai published results of the work for the first today half-year 2016 according to which turnover of the company for the accounting period constituted 2,302 billion UAE dirhams (627 million US dollars) that constitutes growth in 5,4% in comparison with the first half of the year 2015.
The passenger traffic of airline grew to 4,9 million passengers that shows a strong growth and increase in an indicator by 16,5% in comparison with the first half of the year 2015. The number of passengers of a business class in comparison with the same period last year grew by 19%.
In the first half of a financial year the airline noted increase in frequency of flights in the current directions, including Baku, Bahrain, Belgrade, Bucharest, Muscat and Salala that it is connected with increase in demand for travel, and understanding by passengers of benefits of direct aviamessages.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, the chief executive of flydubai airline (Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer), so commented on results of the first half of the year 2016: "The route network flydubai continues to develop, offering passengers the improved transport availability in response to the growing demand for travel in the region. Speaking about the second half of year, already began to deliver us planes from the order for 111 boards placed in 2013, and 8 airplanes from this order are planned to delivery to us in May-December of this year".
At the same time in the report also some reduction of turnover of the company by 89,9 million UAE dirhams (24,5 million US dollars) or by 39% in comparison with results of the second half of the year 2015 is fixed. Makesh Sodani, the finance director of flydubai airline (Mukesh Sodani, Chief Financial Officer), noted: "The unstable economic situation against the background of lower prices of oil and an adverse currency rate continues to put pressure upon the level of the income. We continue to be focused on expense efficiency improvement, developing our route network and expanding a range of the offered services".
Ghaith Al Ghaith so commented on prospect on the second half of a financial year: "Our results show continuation of tendencies of last year, we expect stronger second half of year. Relying on the current line items, we will continue to work on a strong growth and improvement of operational indicators to satisfy the growing demand of our passengers for travel. Thanks to deliveries of new planes, we will increase the offer on our route network and we will add flights to Bangkok with a frequency twice a day".
As of the first half of 2016 average age of boards of flydubai fleet little more than 3,5 years. Two new boards were delivered to airline in May and June, 2016.
