More than half of UAE residents shop at least three times a month
Survey also revealed men shop online more frequently than women
Over half of UAE Residents, 52.6 percent, shop at least three times a month at malls or stores, while 22.6 percent said they shop more than six times a month, according to a survey by research firm YouGov.
The number was almost identical between men and women at 23 percent of women and 22.3 percent of men stating the above.
While 55.9 per cent of 6,000 respondents in the survey said they shop online quite frequently, the number of men was noticeably larger than the number of women, 58.7 percent of men compared to 52.2 percent of women.
According to another survey by YouGov, in line with the Dubai Shopping Festival, as many as 60 percent of GCC residents (excluding those already living in the UAE) are aware of the Dubai Shopping Festival.
Additionally, 14.7% of respondents said they were planning to visit (or are already visiting) Dubai for the occasion. The number is highest in Oman at 21.1 percent followed by Bahrain at 17.8 per cent and Qatar at 17.4 percent.
The survey also revealed over 63 percent of GCC residents prefer to pay by credit card over cash. However, around 49 percent of Omani residents said they would not choose credit cards as their preferred method of payment.
